Energy Management System

In order to bolster national and international standing, improve the image of NLMK Group's companies, and to ensure the achievement of energy efficiency goals through mutual commitments of the Company's management and employees, the Energy Management Systems have been rolled out across the Group's companies and certified for compliance with the international standard ISO 50001 : 2011 "Energy management systems".

Energy efficient production is an important competitive advantage of NLMK Group. The company management made a commitment to provide resource and information support, to create favourable conditions in order to achieve the goals and objectives of NLMK Group's Energy Policy. The company pursues these goals and objectives in accordance with the guidelines in the field of energy supply and energy efficiency.

The results of NLMK Group's measures in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency are publicly available and regularly updated. Novolipetsk Steel is the first Russian iron and steel company, which in 2012 obtained the certificate of conformance to the requirements of ISO 50001 energy management standard. The certificate confirms the efficiency of NLMK’s efforts to implement the best available technologies in the area of energy saving and sustainable use of energy resources.

During 2014 – 2015 the Group's companies Altai-Koks, Stoilensky, VIZ-Steel, NLMK Ural, NLMK Metalware, Stagdok, Dolomit and NLMK Kaluga obtained their certificates; along with NLMK Lipetsk (as part of recertification), they confirmed the validity of their energy management systems’ conformance to ISO 50001 requirements.

As a result, at the moment all the major Russian production sites of NLMK Group have valid certificates of compliance with the requirements of international standard ISO 50001, apply a systematic approach in matters of production, consumption and more sustainable use of energy resources for production.
